All-Terrain React Cushioning & Mountain-Bike Grip: The Nike Pegasus Trail 3 "Black / Pure Platinum" Transition seamlessly from neighborhood tarmac to rugged forest singletracks with a versatile off-road hybrid built on decades of Pegasus running heritage. The DA8698-001 takes the legendary road workhorse into the backcountry, outfitting its responsive chassis with technical off-road defense and trail-tuned stability. Dressed in a stealthy, dirt-masking "Black" mesh base contrasted by sharp "Pure Platinum" Swoosh accents, this shoe provides springy shock absorption, locked-in midfoot security, and mountain-bike-inspired traction across mixed surfaces.

Benefits: Engineered for hybrid door-to-trail runners, gravel grinders, light hikers, and forest commuters, this shoe balances plush impact attenuation with multi-surface grip. The full-length Nike React foam absorbs harsh stone strikes and root impacts, offering a springy, forgiving ride that protects joints over high-mileage mixed-terrain blocks. Engineered mesh mapping vents internal heat freely on steep ascents, while the bike-tire tread pattern delivers smooth transitions across pavement before biting confidently into loose dirt and scree.

Key Features:

• Full-Length Nike React Foam Midsole: Resilient, durable foam platform providing responsive energy return, plush landings, and stable foot-strike transitions across uneven terrain.

• Shockwave Rubber Outsole: Tread pattern inspired by mountain-biking tires, featuring multi-directional nubs that offer clawing uphill grip, braking downhill security, and smooth road flow.

• Dynamic Midfoot Band Support: Integrated midfoot fit system that cinches securely across the arch as you lace up, preventing internal foot roll on off-camber paths.

• Zoned Engineered Mesh Upper: Targeted mesh zones across the vamp and quarter panels for superior airflow, combined with reinforced overlays at high-wear perimeter zones.

• Traditional Padded Collar & Tongue: Re-engineered classic Pegasus ankle collar that hugs the heel softly to minimize friction and prevent debris intrusion.

• Integrated Heel Pull Tab: Heavy-duty rear webbing loop for quick on-and-off access at the trailhead.

Buyer Guidance & Fit Profile:

• Who This Product Is Best Suited For: Ideal for road-to-trail hybrid runners, park trail enthusiasts, daily commuters tackling unpaved shortcuts, and light hikers seeking the soft bounce of a road shoe with trail-grade traction. Pairs naturally with technical merino wool running socks, ripstop cargo shorts, trail tights, and packable windbreakers. Not recommended for swampy deep-mud bogs (where ultra-deep 6mm+ chevron lugs are required) or technical alpine scree scrambles needing a stiff rock plate.

• Fit & Sizing Determination: Fits True to Size (TTS) in standard Nike men’s running footwear. The shoe features an accommodating, road-shoe-like toe box with a secure midfoot lockdown system. Trail runners with broader feet (2E width) or those who prefer wearing thick, cushioned trail socks should consider sizing half a size up (0.5 size up) to ensure ample toe splay during steep downhill descents.

• Recommended Conditions & Activities: Optimised for packed dirt, gravel fire roads, forest paths, light trails, and mixed-surface road-to-trail commuting in dry-to-mild conditions. Care Recommendation: Tap out dried mud and gravel from the outsole nubs after each run; clean the mesh upper and React foam with a soft-bristled brush using lukewarm water and mild technical wash; do not submerge in water or place inside a washing machine, as spin cycles degrade the foam cushioning and upper bonding; air dry naturally at room temperature with the insoles removed, away from direct sunlight, campfires, or radiators.
